“Each book focuses on a specific character trait - perfectly aligned with the IBO PYP Learner Profile attributes”
-Dr. Lesley F. Snowball (CertEd, DipEd, MPhil, PhD), co-author of the original PYP framework
While focusing on attitudes and behavior attributes, this series tackles relevant issues that kids and youth face everyday, including: bullying, improving the environment, choosing healthy food options, how to be more successful as a learner, or dealing with struggles when learning a new language or being the new student.
In addition to the 10 books (perfect for the IB Learner Profile), this bundle also includes A is for Action: The ABCs of Taking Action, which hit #1 on 2 Amazon Best Seller's Lists (Philanthropy & Charity and Decision Making & Problem Solving).
This children's book helps students improve their self-esteem (believing that they can, in fact, make a difference), become more confident in their abilities to problem-solve, and inspires them to change the world for the better, empowering them to tackle today’s issues, as well as tomorrow’s issues.
Our book was created as a result of peer-reviewed research (published in the IB Journal of Teaching Practice on February 28, 2013), includes an online component, featuring: curriculum resources, extension activities, students showing the book’s lessons in practice, and videos; It also includes worksheets and suggested Action organizations.

Customer Reviews - Individual Books
Not only did I love this book, so too did our Grade 5 students as they prepared for their PYP Exhibition. We have now stocked classroom libraries from Grades 1 through 5 with multiple copies of this wonderful resource. Students were able to make more concrete connections with this hard to grasp notion of ACTION. Parents were also impressed and allowed them to continue the discussion with their children. We are very excited as an IB World School to have access to such wonderful resources.
-John Byrne, Teacher-Librarian - Western Academy of Beijing
The Wonders of Wondering
This is a terrific book that provides teachers and students with a lovely stimulus for thinking and talking about curiosity and questioning. This book will no doubt have children eagerly sharing the things THEY wonder about which, in turn, will sow the seeds for all kinds of inquiry learning.
-Kath Murdoch is an experienced teacher, author, university lecturer, popular consultant and creator of an Inquiry cycle that is used in IB schools across the globe
Elöise and the strange Museum Visit: Learning to make reasoned, ethical decisions
Eloïse will engage your students in reflecting on their actions and challenge them to think and take action on the issues they observe. Are you ready for your students to become action agents?
-Michael Furdyk, Co-founder & Director of Innovation, TakingITGlobal
The Lunch Line Fight:Looking at different perspectives
This book presents the cultural, environmental and health issues relating to meat consumption and vegetarianism in a format accessible to children. Rather than watering down these complex issues, we see the characters struggle with understanding each other’s perspectives and working through their differences together. While the characters reach a tidy resolution at the book’s conclusion, it is through innovation, effort, and teamwork that they create change in their world -- exactly the model we should be putting forth for the next generation of social influencers.
-Diana K. Rice, children’s nutrition educator and registered dietitian at Meatless Monday
A is for Action: The ABCs of Taking Action
This book is fantastic! It really helps take teacher and students through the process of taking action and making a positive change in the world. I can not wait to read this to my students and help them choose something they are passionate about to take real action. I also want to share it with my niece and nephew so they can begin their journey into making a difference in our world! Excellent resource for any classroom, especially International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) classrooms and teachers facilitating The PYP Exhibition. I really enjoyed the use of the IB Learner Profile attributes and the PYP attitudes throughout the book. Really well written! I can not wait for more from these authors!
