Working To Understand Our Strengths And Limitations
Working To Understand Our Strengths And Limitations
Have you ever said or heard someone say: “I’m dumb. I hate Math”? This is how Geraldine feels.
Geraldine’s test scores have her down in the dumps, and all she can look at is the red-inked grade she receives. Her teacher helps her to celebrate her strengths and acknowledge the areas she needs to improve. Will Geraldine learn to become reflective and commit to her learning? Or will her test end up in the trash? ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Reviews
This book is fantastic to begin discussions with children of any age about being reflective in their learning and in their lives. Through Geraldine’s experience, children see that looking at themselves from different perspectives can help to make positive changes and even become “super fabulous!”

This book does a wonderful job encouraging and showing how readers can learn from failure. It also illustrates for educators, how they can use empathy to encourage greater effort and commitment from their students. It challenges learners to push themselves beyond their comfort zones to commit to learning new skills and being open to the possibilities of subjects they may not initially have been interested in or believed they were good enough at to try.

This series is a valuable and unique addition to any teacher’s resource collection. Each book focuses on a specific character trait - perfectly aligned with the IBO PYP Learner Profile attributes but equally useful for character education in any school with any curriculum. The stories and their characters are very accessible for independent reading, paired / guided reading, and as teacher readalouds. The delightful illustrations further enhance the key ideas and provide lots of detail for students to discover as they browse. The individual style of this series reflects the character of their authors and will be very appealing to teachers and students alike.
