The Wonders of Wondering
We must help children be life-long learners! We need to foster their curiosity! We have to help them come up with creative and higher-level questions! We hear these things, but it all sounds quite complex, how do we do this?
Come along on a poetic journey, in which you will think about life’s most important questions: What makes us who we are? What is our purpose? How are we connected? This book highlights the importance of being an inquirer and being willing to wonder. ABOUT THE AUTHORS

This is a terrific book that provides teachers and students with a lovely stimulus for thinking and talking about curiosity and questioning. This book will no doubt have children eagerly sharing the things THEY wonder about which, in turn, will sow the seeds for all kinds of inquiry learning.

I love how this book pushes curiosity and urges readers to be more creative, not just in their actions, but their thoughts. I also love how it seamlessly introduces incredibly complex issues—living forever, space having time, faith, emotions, and differences between bodies and cultures—in a way that invites readers to consider and build on these thoughts and possibilities without presenting the concepts as being beyond the reader’s ability to consider or explore. In doing so, it provides readers the footing needed to have rather substantial conversations on ‘big issues’ in order to both grow the ideas and add depth of meaning to the reader’s lives.

Naturally curious, children love to ask questions. Teachers can either foster this desire to learn or shut it down. Encouraging students to generate deep, thought-provoking questions is one of the most important responsibilities a teacher holds. The Wonders of Wondering is full of questions that can be used as examples or as prompts for open-ended discussions.

The Wonders of Wondering unpacks what it means to be a true inquirer. The author has written an engaging and student-friendly guide to being an inquirer. This book makes it clear it's not about the answers students find, but the questions they ask.

This series is a valuable and unique addition to any teacher’s resource collection. Each book focuses on a specific character trait - perfectly aligned with the IBO PYP Learner Profile attributes but equally useful for character education in any school with any curriculum. The stories and their characters are very accessible for independent reading, paired / guided reading, and as teacher readalouds. The delightful illustrations further enhance the key ideas and provide lots of detail for students to discover as they browse. The individual style of this series reflects the character of their authors and will be very appealing to teachers and students alike.
